1. These terms
These terms apply when you buy from smartwarehouses.co.uk as a consumer. Please read them before ordering. If you buy on a Smart Warehouses Trade account, our Trade Terms apply instead. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
2. Ordering
You can order as a guest or with an account (we sign you in with a one-time email code — no passwords). When you place an order you make an offer to buy; our order confirmation email acknowledges it, and the contract is formed when we dispatch your goods. If we cannot accept an order — for example because an item is unavailable, we cannot verify payment, we cannot deliver to your address, or there is an obvious pricing error — we will tell you promptly and refund anything you have paid.
3. Prices and payment
Every retail price on the site includes VAT and all mandatory charges. Delivery is charged in addition and is always shown clearly at checkout before you pay. The available payment methods are shown at checkout, and payment is taken when you place your order.
Despite our best efforts, a product may occasionally be mispriced. If the correct price is higher than shown and the error was obvious and unmistakable, we may contact you before dispatch to reconfirm or cancel the order with a full refund.
4. Delivery
We deliver across the UK, including Northern Ireland, and to a selected list of European and other international destinations, using the services described in our shipping policy. Unless we agree a different date with you, we will deliver within 30 days of your order. The goods are your responsibility from the moment you (or someone you nominate) take physical possession of them; they become your property once we have received payment in full and delivered them. Orders delivered outside the United Kingdom may attract customs duties or import taxes, which are your responsibility as the importer.
5. Changing your mind
As a consumer you have a legal right to cancel most orders within 14 days of delivery, without giving a reason, and receive a full refund including standard delivery costs. We charge no restocking fees. The full details — timescales, exceptions, how to return, and the model cancellation form — are in our refund and returns policy.
6. Faulty or misdescribed goods
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, our goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If something is not right you may be entitled to a refund (a full refund within 30 days of delivery), repair or replacement, and we pay the return postage. See our refund and returns policy, or just contact us and we will sort it.
7. Product information and safety
We work hard to describe products accurately; images are illustrative and minor variations (for example in colour reproduction) can occur. Please read the safety information on the product page before use, and check suitability — especially fitment for vehicle parts — before ordering.
Road legality: some vehicle lighting products are clearly marked “off-road use only”. These are not road legal, must not be fitted to vehicles used on public roads, and using them on the road can result in an MOT failure. Product pages state each item’s road-legality status — please respect it.
Toys: observe the age warnings and safety information shown on the product and its packaging.
Northern Ireland and the EU (product safety): for products supplied to consumers in Northern Ireland or the European Union, product safety concerns can be raised at any time via our contact page or by emailing admin@smartwarehouses.co.uk with “Product safety” in the subject line, and we will respond within one working day. We will provide the details of our responsible person under the EU General Product Safety Regulation on request.
8. Recycling old electricals and batteries
Electrical items and batteries should never go in household waste. See our electrical & battery recycling page for how to recycle them free of charge.
9. Our responsibility to you
If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or of our failing to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. We supply goods for domestic and private use; we are not liable for business losses if you use them for commercial purposes.
10. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control. If one happens we will contact you as soon as possible and take steps to minimise the delay; if the delay is substantial you can contact us to cancel and receive a refund for goods you have paid for but not received.
11. Your information
We use your personal data as set out in our privacy policy and cookie policy.
12. Complaints and disputes
If you are unhappy, please contact us first — we aim to resolve every complaint quickly and fairly. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the English and Welsh courts; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also rely on your local consumer protections and bring proceedings in your local courts.
13. General
Each paragraph of these terms operates separately — if any part is found unlawful, the rest remains in force. If we delay enforcing any part of these terms, we can still enforce it later. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation; we will tell you if this happens, and it will not reduce your rights.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published when you place your order is the one that applies to it.
